Mrs.
Rosa Lee Benekin
had little idea that her attendance at her local neighborhood council
meeting would yield such great returns. It was there that she heard
Anthony Joyner, Metanoia’s Director of Housing Development talk about
Metanoia’s new Repair Program for neighborhood residents who own their
own home and live on a fixed income.
Mrs.
Benekin applied to fix her sagging hallway and a bathroom. They had
become unusable due to a hole in the floor and an inoperable bathtub.
“It was
wonderful working with Metanoia,” she says. “They told me they would be
through in three weeks and by one day over three weeks they were
finished. Everything that I really wanted done has been done. The
contractor was very honest and very good. I would encourage anyone to
go through this process, because after they finish you will be well
satisfied.”
Mrs. Benekin is a longtime resident of the Union Heights Community where
Metanoia recently expanded its reach to include this community in our
rehabilitation program. She and her home are both neighborhood assets
that we make it our mission to hold onto.
