When the Biblical prophet Jeremiah told about God’s vision for a new and peaceful society, he proclaimed that people “shall build houses and live in them. . . They will not build houses that they cannot live in. (Jer. 65:21)”

In July of 2004 the Metanoia Board of Directors took this vision to heart when they identified “boosting homeownership” as a priority.  This is due to the fact that our community currently has a homeownership rate of less than 25% (experts say a healthy community must have a minimum of 60% homeowners).  Thanks to several important partnerships, Metanoia’s Homeownership Initiative is moving ahead with a three phased approach.   Click on any one of the links below to find out more about . . .

We shouldn’t find it surprising that  both Biblical wisdom and contemporary research attest that when people have their own place to live, they are better able to become all that God has called them to be.

At Metanoia, we believe in the simple ethic that when a person can work to make life better for themselves (as opposed to someone else), they will work for the achievement of that dream. Through giving our neighbors a chance to fulfill the vision of Jeremiah , we are helping to reach out in a way that shares God’s love and further makes Metanoia an outpost for the Kingdom of God.
